Project overview

What the project does, what you receive and what you'll need to run it.

Build your next SaaS product with Laravel 13, Vue 3, TypeScript and Docker.

TenantForge is a self-hosted SaaS starter kit designed for developers, freelancers, agencies and startups who want to build applications with multiple customers, teams and workspaces.

It provides the foundation for user authentication, tenant management, role-based permissions, subscriptions, dashboards and platform administration, allowing developers to focus on their own business-specific features.

The project includes complete, editable source code, database migrations, Docker configuration, automated tests and technical documentation.

Multi-Tenant Workspace Management

TenantForge uses a shared-database, multi-tenant architecture with tenant-scoped application resources.

Features include:

  • Workspace creation and onboarding

  • Multiple workspaces per user

  • Workspace switching

  • Tenant-scoped data access

  • Workspace-specific settings and branding

  • Subdomain-based workspace access

  • Custom-domain verification

  • Tenant-aware cache and file handling

The application provides an example Projects module that demonstrates how to build tenant-scoped functionality.

Authentication and Account Security

TenantForge includes account authentication and security features built into the Laravel application.

  • User registration and login

  • Email verification

  • Password reset and recovery

  • TOTP two-factor authentication

  • Two-factor recovery codes

  • Optional Google and GitHub authentication

  • Profile and password management

  • API token management

  • Account access protections

Google and GitHub authentication require credentials from the respective providers.

Team Management and Permissions

Workspace owners can invite members and manage access to workspace resources.

  • Email-based team invitations

  • Member management

  • Custom roles and permissions

  • Permission-controlled application features

  • Member suspension and removal

  • Workspace ownership transfer

  • Activity and audit records

These features provide a starting point for SaaS applications where users collaborate within the same organization or workspace.

SaaS Plans and Usage Management

TenantForge includes an application-level subscription and plan management system.

  • Subscription plan records

  • Trial periods

  • Plan assignment

  • Feature and usage limits

  • Quota tracking and enforcement

  • Subscription status management

  • Platform-level subscription administration

Important: Payment gateway processing is not included. To collect subscription payments, developers must integrate their chosen payment provider and configure the required billing workflows and webhooks.

Workspace Dashboard

The workspace dashboard provides an overview of application activity and workspace information.

It includes dashboard statistics, charts and navigation to important workspace functions.

The Vue interface can be customized to display product-specific metrics, reports and workflows.

Platform Administration

TenantForge includes a separate administration area for SaaS platform operators.

Administrative modules cover:

  • Platform dashboard

  • Workspace and tenant management

  • User management

  • Plan and subscription administration

  • Trial management

  • Tenant suspension and reactivation

  • Application settings and feature flags

  • Announcements and leads

  • Audit activity

  • System health information

Administrative access is protected by role and authentication requirements.

Branding and Custom Domains

The application supports workspace-level customization and domain management.

  • Workspace branding

  • Logo and favicon management

  • SaaS subdomains

  • Custom-domain requests

  • DNS ownership verification

  • Domain status management

Custom domains require suitable DNS and HTTPS configuration in the deployment environment.

API and Developer Features

TenantForge provides an extensible Laravel application structure.

  • API authentication tokens

  • Example API endpoints

  • Tenant-scoped project operations

  • Laravel controllers, models, policies and middleware

  • Database migrations and seeders
